Children

You can bring your children!
(Please include them in your RSVP)

The Day

We have volunteers that will block you from entry until you have signed the guestbook! You will have a full page spread to do as little or as much with as you please so feel free to think ahead 😉
The ceremony will be followed by a reception, music, dancing, and dinner. Wine will be provided and you are welcome to bring your own preferred beverage, alcoholic or otherwise.
The venue is a private home in a residential area so we plan to wind things down by 9pm.

We hope to also coordinate some group activities on other days. We expect to be busy with wedding preparation/aftermath on May 24, 25, & 26, but for those who can arrive earlier or stay longer than that, perhaps we can get together to catch up, visit observatories, find lava, snorkel a coral reef, eat some local catch, etc. (Update: there do not appear to be any active lava flows at this time)

We will be in Hawaii from May 15 through to June 3rd

Transport

The Big Island is fairly sparse and spread out, especially the Kohala coast, so getting around will probably require renting a car. However the rentals are expensive and most of the time people will going to places in groups anyway so may be worthwhile to coordinate with others you know on a car rather than individually renting.

In our experience, the best rental price has been via a Costco membership if you have one.
(If you are interested in driving to the observatories at the summit of Mauna Kea, you will need an all-wheel-drive vehicle with a low gear ratio. The rental agencies will tell you not to but people do anyway. Talk to us for more info)
